Belly Rubs!
There is nothing that feels like an abdominal massage. The chest and abdominal regions holds our most vital organs in a network of fasciae, blood vessels, nerves and lymph nodes. When this tissue is massaged, the accumulated tensions caused by stress, diet and negative emotions are released leaving more space for emotional and physical digestion.
Chi Nei Tsang (Internal Organ Chi Massage) is rooted in thousand year old Taoist energy practices that consider the center of the naval as our energy center. By no chance is this our center of gravity and the prenatal origin of fascia that once nourished and now connects the rest of our body. In biomedicine, this is the area of the enteric nervous system which is comprised of millions of neurons that control secretions, motility and blood flow. It is easy to see why this area can get so congested and must be freed from blockages in order to maintain good health.
Initially, receiving an abdominal massage may feel unusual as this area is often a personal and protected area; however, this method of massages is very gentle and sequenced to allow the abdomen to release at its own pace. The sense of relaxation and well being is immediate. Chi Nei Tsang massage is especially useful with IBS, gastro-intestinal disorders, menstrual and fertility conditions, detoxification, balancing emotions, prostate abnormalities and stress induced conditions. This method is my favorite type of massage and a therapy that is immediately beneficial. Try it, you'll see.
